Lifestyle for the Rich
Life was great for the rich Romans. This is because they lived in beautiful houses that were usually away from the noise and smell. They had luxurious furnishings and were always surrounded by servants and slaves.
Lifestyle for the Poor
Life for the poor however was the opposite. They lived in shabby houses in the city that could collapse or burn at any moment. If times were hard for them they would abandon their babes on the streets hoping that someone else would take them as servants or slaves. They would fight for their life and fortune.
Rich and Poor
Even though their lives might not be so similar there are aspects in their lives that are the same. For example, in both households, the head of the house was always the man. He also had the control of choosing the fate of his children, especially who they married.
