Image result for nemo
Today we played 2 games in Drama. The first game was called "Nemo", the rules were that one person was Marlin (Nemo's dad), and that they would go outside the door or they would go to a certain place where they can't see where the others players are. Then the leaders will pick someone to be Nemo(Marlin's son), then once they are done picking the person to be Nemo, everyone has to run around and pretend to be Nemo. The game keeps on going until Nemo has been found.

                                                                         POWER

                                                    Why Do We Need Power

    • In our everyday lives, we use power. We can’t live without power (electricity). We can’t imagine what life is without electricity. Every night time, we use a lot of electricity, because we need light so that we can see. Without lights, travelling would be very risky,we won't be aware if there are zombies near by and there's a possibility that we bumped into a dangerous weapon.. Whether its  day time or nigh time, electricity keeps our lives in order. We use power to charge electric motors or to make things work.
    • This energy comes from the movement of electrons. Electrons are small particles that orbit, the nucleus of an atom. When electrons work together to flow along a circuit that's is electricity.

    How we make power

One way to make power is through windmills. Modern windmills have three blades. Other number of blades have been tried, but the three blade windmill works greater. Modern windmills rotate clockwise, people say that there are no special reasons for this. Modern windmills are controlled by computer. Windmills are connected to gearbox or generators. Once electricity is made, it is made suitable to enter local grids, it is then used to power your home or someone else's.

Why are group is the most important
Our group is the most important because without it nothing much would really work, like for food, we sometimes need to cook food and without it the stove wouldn't work or the microwave wouldn't work, although you can use fire to cook food. Or for clothing if they were to sew something using a sewing machine without electricity the sewing machine wouldn't work, but they can hand stitch it, but it is still better to use a sewing machine so you can get it done easily.

    Fun facts:

    • Only 10% of energy in a light bulb is used to create light.

    Sustainability

    Aim:
I want to find out how to grow a sustainable garden.

    Things I need to consider:
    • Can the plants grow in our climate?
    • What plants can you grow when planted in September?
    • How long do they take to mature? When can they be harvested?
    • How many mature plants will fit into my garden size?
    • How can I water them during the holidays?
    • How do I keep pests away?
    Research:

I would like to grow :

    • Silver beet to be ready in November
    • Sunflower to be ready in November
    • Potatoes to be ready in December

Here is a system I found that will water the plants from under the soil.
It is a plastic bottle, and the bottom has been cut up, and the lid has been taken off.

    Pest Control

How am I going to keep snails, slugs and birds away from my plants?

    https://www.growveg.com/guides/slugs-gardeners-enemy-number-1/

Basically its a plastic bottle that has been cut up in half, and has been put around the seed.

    Method:

    Equipment
    • Weeding/Gardening Tools
    • Seeds
    • Plastic 2L Water Bottles
    • Scissors
    • String and 1m ruler
    • Stakes
    • Fertiliser
    Instructions
    1. Pull out the weeds and use a spade to turn over the soil.
    2. Mix the fertiliser in with the soil.
    3. Plant the seeds according to my map below.
    4. Put the plastic bottle greenhouses over the seeds.
    5. Add the self-watering system that I found.
