Supergirl: Welcome to Earth

In English we have been watching Supergirl and we were given the task of making a 'SEEL' paragraph. 

Here is my 'SEEL' paragraph:


A message from Supergirl, Welcome to Earth is ‘Never judge someone based on their cultural background’. This is because Supergirl judged Mon-El without knowing him as an individual. She judged him purely based on his cultural background and we saw this scene where Supergirl was confronting Mon-El and accusing him of trying to kill the president. She thought it was him because he was from Daxon, the planet she disliked. This is why I think it is important to know people as an individual and not because of their ethnicity. It makes me think about the times I’ve seen people get judged because they weren’t the same as the other person. In an ideal world, everyone should be free with no one judging them. They should be able to live the way they want to live without getting judged.

What does it mean to you?

I think it's when different people have different lives but they're still one family no matter what the life they have.
-Respect nature and its inhabitants
-Family is not determined by blood


(In the movie Jane and Tarzan came from different cultures but in the end, they came together as one family even if they came from "different worlds".)

What ideas/messages are present in Disney's Tarzan?

-Respect nature and its inhabitants


[A message from the movie Tarzan is "Respect nature and its inhabitants." This is because we should respect it and all the living things and animals that depend on it. For example, we saw this scene where a character named Clayton disrespected the gorilla's and wanted to catch them. This is why I think that it is important to respect nature and animals because us humans depend on them too. This makes me think about all the poor animals that have sadly passed or being hunted by humans because we want to make money. In an ideal world us humans would take what we only need and nothing more.]

-Family is not determined by blood

[“Family is not determined by blood”, is a message I learnt from the movie Tarzan. This is because we are still able to be like a family even if the people we call our family aren’t necessarily related to us by blood. We saw this scene where Tarzan was adopted by Carla, and even though they weren’t exactly the same species or even related in any way they still felt like they were a real family. This is why I think it is important to understand that you don’t have to be related to someone to be able to call them your family. It makes me think about some people call their friends their family even though they are not related because they have this connection where it feels like they are. In an ideal world being adopted or calling someone your family even though they are not related to you should be accepted and people who do should not be criticised.]
